This is the first time I get my hand on a 4K mirrorless camera. I was excited to take it for a quick test. Lucky me, I had to go to NYC and then come back to Philadelphia. This Fall was very short that it snowed while trees are green and the leafs yet to fall.
The purpose was to get familiar with 4K shooting in S-Log mode. Also to put the refurbished ZEISS Vario 16-70 F4 lens to test. And finally, to see the workflow and grading in Adobe Premier.
It was all handheld shot, and the only post-process was grading. I did very basic editing and color grading in under 8 hours in total.
Lens, Ziess Vario-Tessar T E 16-70mm F4 ZA OSS: https://goo.gl/iA19Ez
. The lens is the perfect compilation with the a 6500.
. Small size, light weight and solid body
. Great zoom range, sharp and clear.
. The low side is that it has F4 and doesn’t go wider.
. Editing, Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019:
. Smooth workflow and no lagging in the process.

Camera, Sony a6500: https://goo.gl/nJ1f42
. The a6500 is really good camera with very low price for a 4K camera.
. I had a bit of trouble with the focus. I just need to understand it better in this specific camera.
. In S-Log mode, the ISO doesn’t go lower than 800, therefore you’d need an ND filter during the day, which I obviously I don’t have :)
